THE FAMILY

OUR HOME

Megognano Estate is the embodiment of a dream shared by Flaminia Migone, Luigi Franchetti and their family. This dream involves breathing a new life into the historic Megognano villa which belonged to the Brini family. The Brinis are Flaminia’s mother’s family and she enjoyed part of her childhood at the villa.

THE HISTORY

HISTORIC FRAGMENTS

The earliest known historical record documenting Megognano’s origin dates back to August 3, 946. This is the date of a deed stating that Corrado bishop of San Frediano in Lucca assigned to Azzo del fu Giovanni a farm which was part of the estate “in loco ubi dicitur Meugnano” located in “loco dicto Gugnano.”

TENUTA DI MEGOGNANO, UN LUOGO IN DIVENIRE

OUR PROJECT

Tenuta di Megognano holds a special place in our heart. For us, it is the kind of place where everything begins and where we all return to, every time. The villa is the beating heart of the Tenuta, now as it was then when it was the hub of all production activities of the estate, not only the manor house.

There is a hamlet surrounding the villa. It is now a collection of run-down buildings, but in a few years, it will become a wonderful and fully restored hamlet.
